Tour overview

The tour can start at early morning at 6 am or 2.00pm from your hotel. This unique wildlife sanctuary is just a few kilometers from Nairobi bustling City center, but despite it’s proximity, different species of mammals can be found there, including four of the Big five. The tour also includes a visit to animal orphanage at the park gate. The tour return to your hotel in time for lunch or sundown depending your departure time.

6:30 AM - Departure

Start early to take advantage of the best time for wildlife sightings. Your driver will pick you up from your hotel in Nairobi and take you to the park.

7:00 AM - Morning game drive

You can expect to see a variety of wildlife in the park including lions, leopards, cheetahs, elephants, buffalos, and different species of antelopes, as well as a large number of bird species. A morning game drive will give you the best chance to spot wildlife.

10:00 AM - Visit the Ivory Burning Site Monument

The site of the ivory burning event in 1989 is located in the park. It was a symbolic gesture to show the world that Kenya is committed to ending elephant poaching.

11:00 AM - Visit the animal orphanage

The animal orphanage within the park is a must-visit where you can see and interact with orphaned animals like cheetahs, lions, hyenas, and leopards.

12:30 PM - Lunch break

Take a break for lunch at one of the picnic sites in the park. You can bring your own food or there are some food vendors at the park.

2:00 PM - Afternoon game drive

Continue your game drive to see more wildlife or explore a different part of the park. The park is home to a large number of species, so there's always something new to see.

5:00 PM - Departure

Leave the park and return to your hotel in Nairobi.

Note

This itinerary can be adjusted based on your interests and preferences. If you are interested in a walking safari or a visit to the Maasai community, this can be arranged with a tour operator in advance. Also, keep in mind that traffic in Nairobi can be unpredictable, so it's best to give yourself some buffer time to avoid missing any activities.
